Yes. The course is free and no credit card is required. We put it out free because the more people who can recognize an overdose and use naloxone, the better the outcomes across our community.

None at all. The course is written for members of the public and walks through exactly what to look for and what to do.

Naloxone nasal spray is available over the counter. VAHSI also supplies NARCAN® directly, and non-profit groups can request a donation. Get in touch and we will point you the right way.

Virginia has Good Samaritan protections designed to encourage people to act in an overdose emergency, and the course explains how they work. It is awareness training rather than legal advice, so speak to a lawyer if you need a definitive answer for your situation.

Yes. VAHSI is an ECSI Authorized Training Center and a Red Cross Training Provider, and our certifications are accepted by employers, licensing boards and regulators across Virginia. If your employer has named a specific certifying body, send us the requirement before you enroll and we will confirm we meet it.

It varies by course and by whoever is asking for it. CPR, AED and First Aid cards typically run two years. Virginia compliance courses follow whatever period the regulator sets. The exact validity is printed on the certificate you receive, and we will tell you before you enroll if you ask.

Get in touch with the name and rough date you certified and we will reissue it. For online courses your certificate is also stored in your Online Academy account, so you can download it again any time by signing in.

Yes, for every course we run, and it is usually simpler than having each person sign up individually. Group rates and discounts are available for teams of any size. Contact us with your headcount and we will set it up and help you track who has completed it.

Yes. Every online course saves your progress as you go, so you can work through it in as many sittings as you like, on any device. Nothing expires part way through.

A device with a web browser and an internet connection. Phone, tablet or computer all work. There is nothing to download and no special software.

Yes. Tell us your billing details when you get in touch and we will arrange an invoice, which is usually easier for organizations putting several people through at once.
