Pick a time at our Herndon Training Center. You get a 1-on-1 refresher with an instructor first.

Certify

Pass the 30-minute hands-on skills assessment and receive your certification card.

The entire classroom portion is online and self-paced. The only in-person part is the 30 minute skills assessment at our Herndon Training Center, where you demonstrate compressions, rescue breaths, AED use and the First Aid skills you have learned.

This course adds full First Aid on top of CPR and AED, covering bleeding control, burns, sudden illness, environmental emergencies and more. If you only need CPR and AED for a job requirement, the shorter Standard CPR & AED course is the faster route.

Yes. On successful completion you receive an ECSI course completion card that you can present to an employer, licensing board or regulator.

Yes. We run group sessions either at your workplace or at our Herndon Training Center, and group rates are available. Get in touch and we will put a session together around your schedule.

Yes. VAHSI is an ECSI Authorized Training Center and a Red Cross Training Provider, and our certifications are accepted by employers, licensing boards and regulators across Virginia. If your employer has named a specific certifying body, send us the requirement before you enroll and we will confirm we meet it.

It varies by course and by whoever is asking for it. CPR, AED and First Aid cards typically run two years. Virginia compliance courses follow whatever period the regulator sets. The exact validity is printed on the certificate you receive, and we will tell you before you enroll if you ask.

Get in touch with the name and rough date you certified and we will reissue it. For online courses your certificate is also stored in your Online Academy account, so you can download it again any time by signing in.

The skills assessment for this course takes place at our training center at 205 Van Buren St, Suite 120, Herndon, VA 20170, a short drive from Reston, Chantilly, Sterling and Fairfax. For groups we also travel to your site anywhere in Northern Virginia.
